Olimar thought that he was pulling out a Pikmin, but instead, it was a strange bomb that exploded before he could even register what was going on.

When everything settled, Olimar found that he had been changed into something very different. He had, in short, been turned into the Pikmin Prince. A rather flamboyant and brightly colored natural leader to all Pikmin, and perhaps even some other plants as well.

Thankfully, he no longer needed his helmet and could subsist on just sunlight and water!
